Tips to write Screenplay based on my experience;
1. Knot that doesn't let us sleep.
2. Find sub-knots that help the main knot to develop as a full-fledged story.
3. Fix high and low knots based on the development of the story.
4. Identify the genre of the story. The same knot can be used for different genres. It's of storytelling.
5. No characters in the story. Fix character shade. Do's and Don'ts of the characters. Limitations and advantages of each character.
6. Determine where the story starts in the movie. The importance of the first scene is to make the audience guess further scenes.
7. Not necessarily protagonist nor antagonist needs to move each scene. Need supporting characters that move the story.
8. Find the story flow and where it gets struck.
9. When it gets stuck, apply the 5W 1H formula to move it further.
10. Develop hints or diagrammatic representation before writing a screenplay.
11. Rearrange scenes based on the placement of the knot(s) and the interest level of the scenes.
12. Always keep an eye on the logic unless it's a fantasy or commercial-based story.
13. Remember that plans on the paper are different from plans on the sets.
14. It's difficult to write complete imagination in writing and vice versa.
15. Shots on the papers are subject to changes in location.
16. There are no less important or highly important scenes in a story.
17. No scenes are to be added just for the sake of pleasing someone or the audience.
18. Certain scenes require silence, few scenes with limited dialogue, and few with lengthy ones. These are to be applied based on the character shades.
19. Story needs to have elements to cover the general audience.
20. Fix actors who can emote based on the script.
