His first movie "Aporva Ragangal" falls on this pattern. Where in the very first scene of him denotes that he is re-entering his house after so many years and seeking an identity as a husband and a father. The first question that another character asks him is "Who are you?". His initial movies like Bhairavi shares the identity of his lost sister. Then Thillu Mullu faked with two identities. In Billa, a normal man gets into Don's identity. In his early career stage, he has this identity in most films.
But after 1995, all his films have this pattern. In Thalapathi, he identifies his biological mother but couldn't express it to her and the family. In Annamalai, his house is destroyed which his mother believes to be his father's identity. In Pandiyan movie, his original identity is revealed in the climax as a police officer. In Veera, hiding his identity between two wives. In Basha, hiding his past identity as a don. In Muthu, working as a servant on his property. Same with movies like Panakkaran, and Ulaipali as well. In Arunachalam, he finds his father's identity. In Pettai, he enacted a role where he hides his identity and lives as a different person. Till Darbar, all his recent movies speak volumes about his pattern called identity.
When someone writes stories for Rajinikanth, this pattern automatically falls into play. For a few mass actors, the pattern has helped in their success. But for most of them, it has been a spoiled spot.
