Hey Ram Movie - Scenes VS Impact Level

 When I was a "Fanboy" alone, my mind was full of quarrels on why a movie like "Hey Ram" could be a disaster at the box office.

Years pass by. I learned the art of "Script Auditing", and "Film Appreciation" through which I was able to read between the lines of Characterization, Plot Structure, Story Narratives, Events, Genres, etc. Without any bias, I could see through the movies like an X-ray machine. "Hey Ram" suffers a lot in Point of view, Story Narrative, Motive, Goals, and Characterization. A few of the problems are as follows;

1. Heavy Inciting Incident - The protagonist goes through a heavier event like the Calcutta Riots much earlier in the story. He cannot create that kind of event in the later part of the story.

2. Abyankar tells Saket Ram that all the mess-up that happened in Calcutta is because of Gandhiji. How a person like Saket Ram instantly believed it.

3. While meeting the Premier of Bengal, Saket Ram points out the inability of his rule in Bengal, because of this Calcutta Riots happened. The Bengal Premier confesses and accepts the blame and feels guilty about it. People too appreciate his act.

4. Abyankar already told Saket Ram that all these problems are happening due to the policies of Gandhiji. But while meeting the Bengal Premier and Gandhiji, Saket points the blame only on the Premier not on Gandhiji. Hence, Gandhiji was not in his mind as an antagonist. This is the place where the purpose story ends.

5, The opening scene talks about the difference between Gandhiji and Saket Ram in the bed. Hence, the interval block needs to fall between them. The moment Saket points the gun in the interval block creates interest back in the story. But after that a song is added and the purpose gets diluted by Saket Ram's lust and sexual expression.

The conflict between Mythili and Ram is natural on the topic of Mahatma. She could have been an external conflict for Ram if she had been taken to Delhi. Abyankar is a hunter by himself. He troubles the British through various activities. A person like him has seen several brave people in his tenure. Why would he choose Saket Ram to kill Gandhiji? Saket Ram accidentally takes the gun in the riots. He is not a trained person in doing assassinations. If Abyankar's motive is to brainwash Saket Ram into assassination then he would not have been dejected when the King chose Saket Ram.

In regular intervals, the story narration drops its impact level and disconnects with the common audience. Ram is an introvert but his events put him in extrovertism. Instead of Gandhiji as a reason for a bigger problem, chosen as an assassinator, then how he exhibits the task or fails in it is the one-line story. Rather than exploring it, the story narrative gets into the domestic activities of Saket Ram which takes a lot of time to get established.
