This was on my watchlist for a long time. But I allotted time to watch this movie today. I had no expectations or pre-determination before watching this movie. The movie starts with a bunch of youth spending / creating time for their own and enjoying their life. An incident occurred when four friends got into a drug raid. Unfortunately, one of the boy's dads in the gang is the police officer who is handling that case. A series of events happens between the father and the son, their friends, and family members.
The positive of the movie is surely Kay Kay Menon. He does his role in an easy and elegant way. After his son Kabir dies, he individually pulls the story alone. He has two single-shot lengthy dialogues which he delivered effortlessly. The second half is completely on his shoulders.
The negatives of the movie are many;
1. The sudden genre shift was not required. The story should have started as a drama.
2. The drug racket thing started as a serious issue in the inciting incident but later story focused only on the father and son but not the drug racket.
3. Kay Kay Menon and other parents are shown as a sudden villain of their children. The tough behavior of the parents needs to be built with promising scenes from the beginning and later it should have exploded.
4. The youth members aren't shown any positive traits instead they are only roaming in the night, drinking, and doing nonsense. Suddenly they are justifying their stand and blaming their parents. Their positive sides should have been built from the beginning. Kabir's achievement should be shown with parents neglecting his talent and asking him to focus only on his studies.
5. The story starts with 4 youth members and it is introduced as it is a story of all four. But most of the story rides only between Malhar and Kabir.
