Five stages of story construction

The first part of the story writing is placing the accumulation of scattered ideas at one place. At this point, your subconscious mind wants everything to be told in one story. In reality, the best ideas may not suit the story's ideology. Not all ideas can be materialized in one story.

  திரைக்கதையில் ஓல்ட் ஸ்கூல் ஆப் தாட், நியூ ஸ்கூல் ஆப் தாட் (Old School of Thought, New School of Thought).

பொதுவாக ஒரு திரைப்படத்திற்கு திரைக்கதை எழுத தேவையான நேரம், மனித வளம், பணத்தைவிட பல மடங்கு இது போன்ற திரைப்படத்திற்கு தேவை. நிஜத்தில் இயக்குனர் எப்படி திரைக்கதை எழுதியிருப்பார் என்று எனக்கு தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால் என்னுடைய சிறு அனுபவத்தினைக்கொண்டு உங்களுக்கு ஒரு சூத்திரத்தை சொல்கிறேன். 

மூன்று விதமான எழுத்தாளர்கள் ஒரு சம்பவம் - வேறுபாடும் பார்வை

 ஒரு சம்பவத்தை (Event) மூன்று விதமான திரைக்கதாசிரிகள் (Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic) நேரில் பார்க்கிறார்கள். அதை அவர்கள் காட்சியாக எழுதும் பொழுது இப்படி இருக்கும்;

காட்சி திறன் உள்ள எழுத்தாளர் (Visual Trait) - உச்சி வெயிலில் ஒரு பெண் கோட் சூட் அணிந்துகொண்டு கடை வீதியில் வந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறாள். அவளது நீல நிற பேகை தலையில் வைத்து வெப்பத்திலிருந்து தப்பிக்க நினைக்கிறாள். தலையிலிருந்து கண்கள் வழியாக வியர்வை ஊற்றிக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறது. அதை வெள்ளை நிற கர்சீப்பால் துடைக்க, ஒரு திருப்பத்தில் பச்சை நிற சன்டிரோ ஒன்று கண்ணிமைக்கும் நேரத்தில் அவளை வேகமாக உரசி சென்றது. வலது கையில் நன்றாக அடிப்பட்டு வீங்கிவிட்டது. வெய்யிலின் தாக்கம் வேறு கை வலி வேறு அவளுக்கு என்ன செய்வதென்றே தெரியாமல் அருகில் இருக்கும் பழ கடைக்கு சென்று அங்கு இருக்கும் நாற்காலியில் அமர்ந்தாள்.

திரைக்கதையின் இலக்கணத்தை உடைக்கலாமா?

இது ஒரு மாய வளையம். சினிமா மொழியும், சினிமா இலக்கணமும் ஒன்றோடு ஒன்று கலந்தது. இரண்டையும் தனித்தனியே பிரிக்க இயலாது. உதாரணமாக, சினிமாவின் மொழியை மக்களிடம் காட்சி வழியே சேர்க்க பெரும் உதவியாக இருப்பது;

• கேமரா, லென்ஸ், போகஸ் மற்றும் அதன் அசைவுகள் (Camera, Lens, Focus and Movement).
• காட்சிப்படுத்துதலும், அரங்கேற்றப்படுத்துவதும் (Mis-en-Scene).
• ஒளி (Lighting).
• இசை மற்றும் சப்தம் (Sound, Voice and Music).
• படத்தொகுப்பு (Editing).
• நடிப்பு மற்றும் செயல் (Performance).

Visual Timeline of Christopher Nolan's "Memento"

 

I was browsing the internet today. I found this scientific effort from Dr. Steve Aprahamian. He has created a timeline chart of the famous Christopher Nolan's "Memento." The film starts with a Polaroid photograph of a dead man. As the sequence plays backward, the photo reverts to its undeveloped state, entering the camera before the man is shot in the head. The film then continues, alternating between black-and-white and color sequences. 

சூப்பர் ஸ்டாருக்கு கதை எழுதவேண்டுமானால் என்ன கதை எழுதுவீர்கள்?

Director Mani Ratnam and his Filmmaking Pattern

The pattern is a subconscious activity that rules the action of human beings. When you know your pattern, you can control it. If not, it controls you. The Pattern can be both a boon and a bane for filmmakers. It helps to stand out from other human beings and at the same time, it can be dangerous if repeated again and again. I researched the filmmaking pattern of Director Mani Ratnam and his Story World. I could see a pattern in every genre and movie of him. 

Characters and it's Ego - Married Life

Based on my research, I have given below the outcome of the EGO state of the husband and wife; For better authenticity, use these formulas while you write your stories.

Critical Parent + Critical Parent = Disagreement in all cases. Leads to divorce in short span of time.

Nurturing Parent + Critical Parent = Frequent Debates based on valid proof. Will have miserable marriage life.

Nurturing Parent + Nurturing Parent = They will have conditional love life. Life will be based on several compromises.

Basic Screenplay Tips

 Tips to write Screenplay based on my experience;

1. Knot that doesn't let us sleep.

2. Find sub-knots that help the main knot to develop as a full-fledged story.

3. Fix high and low knots based on the development of the story.

4. Identify the genre of the story. The same knot can be used for different genres. It's of storytelling.

5. No characters in the story. Fix character shade. Do's and Don'ts of the characters. Limitations and advantages of each character.

"Identity"​ Pattern and Rajinikanth Movies

Previously, I have written a couple of articles on how "Pattern" plays a role in films. It works subconsciously in the minds of the storyteller and blends in each & every activity of scriptwriting. Not only filmmakers, but Pattern also acts as a supportive / spoil spot for Actors, Film Business and Audience too. When I researched Super Star Rajinikanth movies, I found a Pattern to be playing in most of his films. I wonder whether the film makes wrote scripts for his Pattern or he chooses when that Pattern hits his subconscious mind. His Pattern is called "Identity".
