1. Story idea is different from the screenplay - The Writer gets motivated by an idea or an event. While writing the screenplay, the main moral is diluted by the overlapping of another powerful idea.

2. Wrong Narrative Style - Not all narrative style fits a story. The writer needs to understand the theme of the story and the point of view of the character before fixing the narrative style.

3. Unbelievable Character Behaviour - Rather than being organic, characters behave based on the whims and fancies of the writer.

 Film writing encompasses various types of writing related to the film industry. Here are some of the different types of film writing:

Screenwriting: Screenwriting involves writing scripts for films. Screenplays outline the dialogue, actions, and scenes of a movie, serving as the blueprint for the final production. Screenwriters develop the story, characters, and plot, and often work closely with directors and producers to bring their vision to life.

Just because someone has rejected your film script, it doesn't mean that you don't fit the bill. There are several reasons why film scripts are getting rejected at the producer/production company level. Instead of changing our approach, we blame them for our mistakes. Not all the time, film producers are wrong. Most of the time, we assume/believe rumors spread by our industry colleagues.

What Film Producer Really Wants - Tips for the entry-level Directors.

 There is the biggest question that every budding director has in their mind. After several pitching and rejection with the production houses, this question makes them sleepless. Their mind tries to crack the puzzle. Even though I haven't pitched a lot of scripts with the producers, I was part of many story discussions and script auditing sessions with the production houses. Every month hundreds of scripts are submitted to the production companies. But only a few get a narration opportunity. I hear people saying that the production houses run based on recommendations. One needs to have the call sheet of big stars. All the story narrations are eyewash.

Five stages of story construction

The first part of the story writing is placing the accumulation of scattered ideas at one place. At this point, your subconscious mind wants everything to be told in one story. In reality, the best ideas may not suit the story's ideology. Not all ideas can be materialized in one story.

Patterns for Film Makers - Do's and Don'ts

   In our earlier blogs, we have seen the Patterns of several filmmakers and we learned that Patterns can be both a boon and a bane. Most of the time, we have seen that the patterns of the filmmaker are affecting his/her storytelling methods. Due to this, the filmmaker is struggling to create new types of character egos, situations, story. When the filmmaker thinks about forming a new story, his/her subconscious mind puts them in the same thinking pattern. Only if the filmmaker realizes his/her thinking pattern, will be able to break it. It is not difficult to attain self-realization but the ego, and experience of the filmmaker stop them to learn new things. Filmmakers may wonder why their new creations are not receiving good reception among the audience. They may think it is new but for the audience, it is a repeated story world. To break these shackles, one should know the different types of patterns and their impact on storytelling.

 நம்மால் யாருக்கும் வீரத்தை கற்றுக்கொடுக்க முடியாது. ஆனால் போர் தந்திரங்களை கற்றுக்கொடுக்க முடியும். வீரம் என்பது பிறவி குணம். வெறும் வீரத்தை மட்டுமே வைத்துக்கொண்டு நம்மால் எதிரிகளின் யுக்திகளை ஜெயிக்க முடியாது. எப்பேர்ப்பட்ட வீர தீர அரசனாக இருந்தாலும் ஆலோசனை சொல்ல ஒரு குரு தேவை. அதனால் தான் அரசர்கள் ராஜா குருவை சபை அமர்த்தினார்கள். அந்த ராஜா குருவால் வீரத்தை கற்றுக்கொடுக்க முடியாது ஆனால் போர் முறைகளை கற்றுக்கொடுக்க முடியும். அரசரின் பலம் என்ன பலவீனம் என்ன, படைகளை எப்படி நகர்த்தவேண்டும், யார் யாருக்கு எப்பொழுது ஆணைகள் பிறப்பிக்க வேண்டும் போன்றவற்றை ராஜகுரு சொல்கிறார். 

Black Adam - A Lethargic Story World

  Recently, I have seen a slump in Hollywood's quality of the Screenplay. Black Adam is another addition to the list. Both, the story world and narration are handled with the Whimps and Fancies of the Writer. The story starts with the inception of Black Adam and suddenly gets into the modern era portraying a different Antagonist called "Intergang". The purpose and conflicts of the story world keep on changing from time to time. Hence, it is difficult to follow the characters and their motives. 

Is film-making a natural talent?

 There are three types of Film-makers. 

1. Prodigy
2. Intelligent
3. Curiosity

Prodigies are naturally talented. They have exceptional observing and understanding skills. Screen Writers in this category obtain information from various channels. They need less guidance and support from others. They do not need a teacher or guru. Teachers can learn from them. They are the ones who can absorb in the right way and bring out amazingly just by seeing and hearing. They will advance with a great name, fame, and positions in a short span of period.

முதல் வகை 'ப்ரோடிஜி' (Prodigy) என்கிற அதிமேதாவி. இவர்கள் இயற்கையிலேயே அதிகமான உள்வாங்கும் திறன் கொண்டவர்கள். ஆசிரியரோ, குருவோ இவர்களுக்கு தேவை இல்லை. ஆசிரியர்கள் இவர்களிடம் இருந்து கற்றுக்கொள்ள நேரிடும். பார்த்த, கேட்ட மாத்திரத்திலேயே இவர்களால் சரியான முறையில் உள்வாங்கிக்கொண்டு அதிசயிக்கத்தக்க வகையில் வெளிக்கொணர்வர்கள். இவர்கள் பெரும் பெயர், புகழ், பதவிகளோடு குறுகிய காலத்தில் முன்னேறுவர்.

Filmmakers and Pattern

 The pattern is a double-edged Sword for the Filmmakers. It is both a boon and a bane.

A pattern is how something happens, develops, or is done. Everything in this world including human behavior thought processes, actions, etc is bound to be under a pattern. It varies from person to person, situation to situation. Every living being in this world has a pattern of eating, sleeping, walking, thinking, writing, laughing, etc., In psychology and cognitive neuroscience, pattern recognition describes a cognitive process that matches information from a stimulus with information retrieved from memory. 

Basic Screenplay Tips

 Tips to write Screenplay based on my experience;

1. Knot that doesn't let us sleep.

2. Find sub-knots that help the main knot to develop as a full-fledged story.

3. Fix high and low knots based on the development of the story.

4. Identify the genre of the story. The same knot can be used for different genres. It's of storytelling.

5. No characters in the story. Fix character shade. Do's and Don'ts of the characters. Limitations and advantages of each character.
